iUniversity Prep PTSA Senior Cord Program

Earn points to receive an iUP PTA Senior Cord for graduation to celebrate their commitment to their campus, advocacy, and involvement!  Points must be submitted for tracking by June 30th each year for 5th-11th grade; for 12th grade, points must be submitted and qualifications must be met by March 31 of their senior year.  

Cords will be distributed at graduation along with any others earned while at iUniversity Prep.  The PTA will provide the cords at no additional cost to the graduate, and notifications will be sent to the student on or before May 1.

Qualifications to be met by March 31 of their senior year:

• Senior must be an active member of iUniversity Prep PTSA their senior year
• Senior must have earned at least a certain number of points over the course of their time at iUP (see chart below)
• Points must be submitted through the PTA website on time for consideration

Graduation Class Due Dates and Exceptions

• Due to 2024-2025 being the inaugural year for iUP PTA, the Class of 2026 will enter two years of data (11th and 12th grade) due by March 31, 2026 and will need to have earned 40 points.  
• The Class of 2027 will need to have earned 60 points; they will enter two years of data (10th and 11th grade) due by June 30, 2026, then submit their 12th grade points by March 31, 2027.  
• The Class of 2028 will need to have earned 80 points; they will enter two years of data (9th and 10th grade) due by June 30, 2026, then submit their 11th grade points by June 30, 2027 and their 12th grade points by March 31, 2028.  
• All subsequent classes will enter two years worth of data this year due on June 30, 2026, submit one year’s worth every year starting in 2027, and will need to earn 100 points by March 31 of their graduating year.

Points

• 5 points per year of PTSA membership (max 1 entry/year for 8 years)
• 5 points per year of Reflections participation (max 1 entry/year for 8 years regardless of number of entries submitted for the program)
• 2 points for attending any of the following iUP Events or similar (must sign-in; no max):
• Meet the Teacher
• Back to School Bash
• Homecoming
• Winterfest
• Prom
• End of Year Party
• Owl Expo
• PTSA General Meeting
• Local meet-ups
• 5 points for coordinating or volunteering at any of the following iUP Events or similar (must sign-in; no max):
• Meet the Teacher
• Back to School Bash
• Homecoming
• Winterfest
• Prom
• End of Year Party
• Owl Expo
• PTSA General Meeting
• Local meet-ups
• 5 points per event for serving as an Owl Ambassador
• 1 point for every sponsored iUP club/organization that you are a member (max 10 points/year)
• 5 points for every sponsored iUP club/organization that you are an officer (max 20 points/year)
• 10 points per year for serving on the iUP PTSA Board
• 1 point for every service hour completed independently (max 10 points/year)
